It is said that on May 2, 1992, a diving enthusiast named Geng Wei dived into the underground water at a depth of 9 meters in the northeast of Fuxian Lake.

He found a large number of special stones accumulated under the stone beams covered with scale and moss.

Until December 2005, an underwater archaeological team entered Fuxian Lake for underwater exploration and discovered an ancient city composed of eight ancient building complexes, including a 20-meter-high pyramid and a large building complex similar to ancient Rome.

Preliminary research by the archaeological team found that this is an ancient city 2,000 years ago, most likely the ancient Dian Kingdom or Yuyuan City in history.

According to divers who went into the water at the time, countless corpses were found underwater in Fuxian Lake, which looked like a huge natural corpse warehouse.
