Pingdingshan Riverside Park is located in the southwest of Pingdingshan city center, adjacent to zhanhe in the north. It was built in 1959, covering an area of 16 hectares. Later, due to institutional changes, it was dismounted several times, especially during the Cultural Revolution, which seriously occupied the green space. Up to now, there are still warehouses of the municipal radio station and industrial bureau that have not moved out, thus reducing the original park area to 55.2 hectares. The park is surrounded by a flat terrain, with an altitude of 84m. This place used to be zhanhe Depression, and then zhanhe was dredged, and the water level dropped. An urban flood control canal runs through the north and south of the park, dividing the park into two parts. The park has been under closed fee management since its completion. In 25, the Pingdingshan Municipal Party Committee and the Municipal Government complied with the wishes of the general public and decided to exempt the entrance fees for the four gates of Riverside Park from July 1 of that year. Since the beginning of 211, more than ten large and small projects have been completed in the renovation of the park, including the comprehensive renewal of the water network, the addition of barrier-free facilities for the disabled in five public toilets, the renewal of the east gate green space, the opening of broken roads, the painting of walls, the renovation of the zoo, etc., and a series of renovation projects have invested more than 5 million yuan.
