Family-child tour - trip to western Sichuan

? Traveling with my son every summer has become the happiest thing for the family. My son said he wanted to see the grassland. I looked at the map and finally chose to go to western Sichuan, Ruoergai Grassland-Huahu- —Bifeng Gorge, the whole journey takes 6 days. I purchased high-speed rail tickets and booked a hotel online in advance. This trip was quite volatile. We had to change hotels every day, and we had to take into account the grassland climate. We filled two suitcases with clothes and shoes.

? Day 1: Take the high-speed rail from Wuhan to Chengdu. The 8:15 am train arrived in Chengdu at 18:20 pm, which took 10 hours. After arriving at Chengdu North Railway Station, we took a taxi to the hotel. The road in western Sichuan is far away, and I am not familiar with the local mountain roads, so it is not suitable for self-guided tours. I chose a chartered car tour through a travel agency, which saved me the worries of transportation and accommodation. Around 19:30, we took a taxi to Kuanzhai Alley for dinner. Kuanzhai Alley is the only remaining ancient Qing Dynasty street in Chengdu. It consists of three parallel old-fashioned urban streets, namely Kuan Alley, Narrow Alley and Jing Alley, and the courtyard complex between them. It has both the characteristics of the folk houses in western Sichuan in the south and the connotation of Manchu and Mongolian culture in the north. It is the last remnant of the urban pattern of old Chengdu's "Millennium Young City". As the most typical landmark of Chengdu, Kuanzhai Alley has witnessed the history and changes of Chengdu. It is also a showcase of Chengdu’s slow life. At night, the Kuanzhai Alley is brightly lit and crowded with tourists. Every Sichuan restaurant is full of people. Although the price is more expensive than outside, it still can't stop the enthusiasm of the foodies.

The next day: Gather at 7:30 in the morning and take a bus with tourists from different places to the Hongyuan Grassland in Aba Prefecture. Passing through Dujiangyan, Yingxiu and Wenchuan, you can see the natural scenery of western Sichuan on the bus. After arriving at Taoping Qiang Village, the Tibetan and Qiang settlement in Oriental Castle, you can get off the bus and travel on your own. Feel the ancient Qiang culture, walk through the maze-like ancient lanes, appreciate the exquisite ancient Qiang architectural art, climb the thousand-year-old watchtowers, and taste the Qiang barbecue mutton skewers and potato skewers.

After the bus entered the peak at an altitude of 3,000 meters, it stopped at the Malkang Peak. The tourists got off the bus and moved around freely. When they looked up, they were surrounded by clouds and mist. The air began to thin. The most obvious change was that they felt a little cold.

? Pass through Gurgou, cross the Partridge Mountain Tunnel, enter the Shuma intersection in Hongyuan County, pass the Red Army’s Long March meeting place - Shujing Temple, and reach the watershed of the Yangtze River and the Yellow River - Cha Zhenliangzi, this is a major tourist attraction, and many tourists are taking photos.

? Entering Hongyuan County is at an altitude of 4,000 meters. After the Red Army’s Long March, we walked through the Longriba Prairie and arrived at the Hongyuan Moon Bay Scenic Area. The river on the grassland curves like a crescent moon, hence the name "Moon Bay". The road crosses a hilly plain. Under the hilly plain is a flat grassy beach with a drop of about 50 meters. Nature has arranged the scenery on this grassy beach to draw a picture. Make one curved arc after another. When we arrived, there was a strong wind, and the clouds covered the sun. Looking at the grassy beach in the distance, the sky and water were the same color, which was magnificent and boundless.

After visiting Moon Bay Scenic Area, the bus drove to Hongyuan County to solve the problem of dinner and accommodation. Abazhou is a relatively poor area in western Sichuan. The food, drink and accommodation are not comparable to those in Chengdu. The food, accommodation and food conditions are very poor, and you have to adapt to altitude sickness. It is recommended to bring more clothes and snacks, as well as toiletries and slippers. In addition, you need to prepare more change. After entering Western Sichuan, you will be charged 1 yuan to use the toilet. Although the toilet is smelly and dirty, you must be mentally prepared.

? The third day: Gather and set off at 7:30. The scenic spots to visit are the first bend of the Jiuqu Yellow River and the Flower Lake. It started to rain in Hongyuan County in the middle of the night, and the temperature in the morning was 5°C. It was extremely cold with wind and rain. The tour guide said that it was normal for the grassland weather to be cloudy and sunny. After arriving at the first bay of the Nine Bends of the Yellow River, you need to pay for your own tickets. Due to the rain and cold, we did not witness the legendary beauty. The only thing we saw was the endless grassland.

? Go to the most beautiful wetland grassland in China - Zoige Huahu Scenic Area. Tickets are at your own expense. The rain was getting heavier and heavier, so I had no choice but to buy a raincoat and a wool shawl. The price of Tibetan and Qiang wool shawls varies greatly due to their quality, so it is more expensive to buy at tourist attractions. Huahu is named after the flowers blooming in the water. It is surrounded by hundreds of acres of water grassland and is the "Plateau Wetland Biodiversity Nature Reserve" - ??known as the "Lungs of the Earth". The reserve is dominated by black-necked cranes. Look at the grassy beaches and rivers.

? The sun came out at noon, and the tour guide said that you can go horse riding and taste yak hotpot for 150 yuan per person.

For those who have never ridden a horse, it is everyone’s dream to ride a horse on the grassland. It doesn’t matter if you don’t know how to ride a horse. There is a Tibetan guy holding you tight behind you, so you don’t have to worry about falling off. I was a little scared at first, so I grabbed the horse's tail tightly and the horse started running. It was so exciting! I shouted excitedly, it’s a good thing that Tibetans can’t understand Chinese, otherwise they would have died laughing!

? Eat yak hot pot in the tent.

? Stay at Chuanzhu Temple in the evening and enjoy the Tibetan and Qiang party with rich style. Tickets for the Tibetan and Qiang party are 150 yuan per person. The party is good, and the songs and dances are all performed by the Tibetan and Qiang people. When traveling to the Tibetan and Qiang areas, there are many self-funded tours, which are a bit expensive, but considering that the Tibetan and Qiang people live a relatively difficult life and have inconvenient transportation, it is not a big deal.

? Day 4: Go to the historical city of Chuanzhu Temple - Songpan Ancient City, which is the largest shopping spot. There are many kinds of Tibetan handicrafts, silver jewelry, snow-covered medicinal materials, Tibetan Seven Treasures, and Tibetan Dzi Beads, and of course the prices are not cheap. The medicinal materials are more expensive. Hidden Dzi Beads and Hidden Seven Treasures cost more than 10,000 yuan each. Shopping guides at tourist attractions will lobby hard, saying that it is a specialty here and is worth the money. I believe everyone will have the desire to buy on impulse. I also bought Gastrodia Gastrodia on impulse at 2.6 yuan per gram. I just grabbed a handful. It was more than 500 yuan. I thought it was too expensive and I was embarrassed not to give it up, so I reduced the weight and spent 300 yuan. Yak meat is not cheap either. If you like to eat it or give it away, it is recommended to buy it in small bags and buy some of each flavor to taste.

We started going down the mountain from Aba Prefecture. After nearly 2 hours of traffic jam caused by rock landslides, we passed through the Guan ethnic village of Maoxian County - Xingfu Moutuo Village. The tour guide said that the yak horn combs here are famous at home and abroad. We got off the car to visit the yak combs. Production, the average value of a yak comb is 50 yuan, and the price is determined according to the production process. The yak comb is really good. It is no different from the ordinary horn comb in appearance. The only difference is that it is made of yak horn. There are specialties of Muni Village near the shopping spot, and most people rush to taste the delicious food. The authentic cold noodles, potato skewers, mixed with cumin powder and Sichuan pepper powder, taste very refreshing.

Day 5: Assemble at 7:30 and depart from Chengdu Baifurong via Wenqiong Expressway and then head to Bifengxia, which takes about 3 hours. Arriving at the gate of Bifengxia Scenic Area at 11 noon, the tour guide told us to leave our luggage at the Nongjiale Travel Agency first. After lunch, we would go to Bifengxia Wildlife Park in the afternoon. The ticket price for Bifeng Gorge is 150 yuan for adults, half for children, and discounts are available with student ID cards and senior citizen ID cards. In addition, the 35 yuan per person for food stamps at the Safari Park is not discounted. The wildlife park is very large. It takes 4-5 hours to enter the park from 12 o'clock.

? In addition to experiencing the excitement of feeding tigers and black bears, you can have close contact with deer, sheep, and horses, and watch the aquatic crawling ditch, monkey valley, bird paradise, ostrich release area, and red panda release area, parrot scattering area, crocodile pool, snake ditch and top animal area, etc. There are also three animal performance halls in the middle, which are very popular with children. Compared with city zoos, wildlife parks are more like primeval forests. Every flower or tree is rarely artificially carved, and most of them remain original. The rare animals, in particular, satisfy children’s curiosity and are more interesting and interesting than those described in books. Intellectual. In the process of interacting with animals, let the children learn to love and protect animals from an early age, and understand that saving endangered animals is also protecting humans themselves.

? After dinner, attend the song and dance party. The tickets are given as a gift when you purchase the Bifengxia Wildlife Park. Your own expense is 80 yuan. This song and dance party is similar to the Tibetan and Qiang songs and dances, but the difference is that it is more participatory. In addition to the songs and dances of the Tibetan and Qiang people, there is also an audience concert, all singing classic old songs, pushing the party to a climax. The accommodation conditions in Bifengxia are also very poor. Hot water must be supplied on the mountain. There are many mosquitoes. The bedding is damp. Disposable toiletries are not provided and there is no boiled water. You have to bring everything by yourself. The food in Bifengxia Mountain is slightly better than that in the plateau area, and is more suitable for the taste of Han people.

? Day 6: Assemble at 8 o'clock and go to Bifeng Gorge to visit the Panda Base. Bifeng Gorge in Ya'an is the largest base for panda breeding. To get to the gate, you have to take a battery car in the scenic area to the panda base at your own expense of 15 yuan. It takes about 90 minutes to visit the Panda Base. Afterwards, pass through the scenic plank road to view Hezhizhou, Wild Duck Beach, Tianlong Lingyun, Bailongtan Waterfall, Hanging Coffin, Ten Finger Butian Peak, Drop of Tears Waterfall, Thousand Layer Rock Waterfall and other scenery. Follow the scenic route instructions and enjoy the "Lungs of Tianfu" "The fresh air, while admiring the wonders of nature, and finally taking the 88.8-meter-high Qingyun Ladder to see the scenery.

It takes about 120 minutes to visit Bifengxia Natural Scenic Area.

After lunch, go to Shangli Ancient Town, a famous historical and cultural town in Sichuan, to visit Erxian Bridge, Old Street and other scenic spots to feel the folk customs of the town. The natural scenery of Bifeng Gorge is beautiful, quiet and elegant, and it is worth visiting. Shangli Ancient Town is a typical pastoral scenery in Western Sichuan. If you have enough time, you can taste tea in the teahouse. The price is not expensive, a large pot of tea only costs 35 yuan. Twist twists are a specialty of the ancient town. They are crispy, soft and sweet. They also have ice powder and are sold everywhere.

? During the six-day trip, my son had a great time. He not only experienced the hard life of the people in Tibetan areas, but also appreciated the beautiful rivers and mountains, had close contact with animals, and saw giant pandas up close. It was full of rewards! Traveling with children not only increases your knowledge, but also broadens your horizons. Traveling is the happiest time to witness a family loving each other!

Note: Altitude sickness may occur when entering Tibetan plateau areas. Buy Rhodiola rosea oral liquid at a Chengdu pharmacy, which is said to prevent altitude sickness. Buying in Tibetan areas is extremely expensive. When taking children to Tibetan areas, you must pay attention to safety and abide by Tibetan customs and habits. The temperature in the grassland is low, so prepare warm clothes, umbrellas and raincoats. The food and drink in Tibetan areas cannot be compared with that in Chengdu. Bring mineral water, beef jerky, raisins, biscuits, and bread for later use.
