1. September 24th Shantou Earthquake

At 1: 57 pm on September 24th, 215, a 3.8-magnitude earthquake occurred in the eastern part of Guangdong Province, with its epicenter at 23.1 degrees north latitude and 115.7 degrees east longitude, that is, about 11 kilometers west-southwest of Shantou, or about 18 kilometers east-northeast of Hong Kong.

The Observatory received reports from more than 4 members of the public that they felt slight vibration, which lasted for several seconds. Preliminary analysis shows that the earthquake intensity in Hong Kong is the fourth degree of the revised Macquarie earthquake intensity scale, that is, the hanging objects swing and the doors, windows and dishes make noise.

2. Chaoshan Earthquake

According to Chaozhou House, during the Tang Dynasty, an earthquake of magnitude 8. occurred in Chaoshan area (namely Shantou, Chaozhou and Jieyang on the eastern coast of Guangdong Province). 3. 8.17 catastrophic flood in Shantou
