People with spleen, kidney deficiency and cold should not take it.
Pharmacological action:
1. Antibacterial effect: Eclipta prostrata has antibacterial effect on Staphylococcus aureus, Salmonella typhi, Shigella sonnei and Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
2. Liver protection: benzene, acetone, petroleum ether and 50% ethanol extracts of Mosalian have protective effects on liver injury caused by carbon tetrachloride, among which 50% ethanol extract has the strongest effect. In the model of carbon tetrachloride-induced rod injury in mice and rats, the indexes such as AST (aspartate aminotransferase), ALT (alanine aminotransferase), total protein, total cholagogue and the increase of clearance rate of titanium sulfide bromide were observed, which showed that the ethanol extract of Mo Zao Lian had obvious protective effect on liver function.
3. Effect on immune function: Oral administration of Eclipta prostrata decoction to 10g/kg and 20g/kg mice can obviously increase the weight of thymus, increase the clearance rate of carbon particles and increase the number of peripheral white blood cells; The swelling degree of mouse auricle caused by 2,4-dinitrochlorobenzene (DNCB) and delayed swelling degree of foot pad caused by sheep red sperm Pao (SRBC) increased significantly, and the percentage of peripheral blood T lymphocytes also increased significantly. However, it has no obvious effect on the secretion of antibody function of spleen and the content of serum hemolysin antibody in mice. The above results showed that Mo Zao Lian could obviously enhance the nonspecific immunity and cellular immunity, but had no effect on humoral immunity. The 20% enol extract of Eclipta prostrata can significantly promote the proliferation of T and B lymphocytes. The monomer compound S2S3S8 significantly promoted lymphocyte transformation and increased the production of interleukin II.
4. Antimutagenic effect: The water-soluble extract of Eclipta prostrata (7.5g/kg, 15g/kg, 30g/kg) has obvious inhibitory effect on micronucleus induced by cyclophosphamide in mice, indicating that the drug has certain protective effect on chromosome damage. This antimutagenic effect and enhancing immune function of Eclipta prostrata may be part of its pharmacological basis for tonifying kidney and delaying aging.
5. Effect on cardiovascular system: Eclipta prostrata can increase coronary flow of guinea pig's physical heart and change ECG T wave, and mice can significantly prolong life or improve survival rate under normal pressure or decompression. This effect is consistent with the clinical trial of Eclipta prostrata extract for coronary heart disease and angina pectoris.
6. Hemostasis: Cut off the femoral artery of the dog, and apply lotus leaf powder to the bleeding place for slight compression, which has a good hemostasis effect, and the water extract also has a significant hemostasis effect.
7. Other effects: Mo Zao Lian decoction has moderate killing effect on esophageal cancer 109 cells. In addition, Mo Zao Lian has obvious sedative and analgesic effects on mice. The ethanol extract of Eclipta prostrata can obviously reduce the increase of sleeping time of cyclohexylbarbital and chlorpromazine paralysis time caused by carbon tetrachloride. The LD50 of mice poisoned by Eclipta prostrata was 163+-2 1.4g/kg, and the safety factor was 700 ~ 750 times. The micronucleus rate of polychromatic erythrocytes and organic cells in bone marrow of mice was not increased by gavage of 5g/kg water extract of Eclipta prostrata for 7 days, which indicated that Eclipta prostrata had no damage to chromosomes and no mutagenicity.
