How to use moxa sticks

The use of moxa sticks is very simple. Three methods are recommended:

1. Hold the moxa sticks in your hand and aim at the acupuncture points for direct fumigation and moxibustion.

This is the simplest, most effective, and flexible. It’s just that your hands may be tired, so you can use this method in no more than an hour.

2. Use moxa sticks in boxes for fumigation and moxibustion.

This method requires a moxibustion box tool, then cut the moxa stick into 4 sections, put it into the box and light it.

Cover a layer of breathable cloth in winter. This method of using moxa sticks is easier and can last longer.

It’s just that the area is relatively large, so the effect should be worse than single-point moxibustion.

3. Use clips to clamp the moxibustion points.

This is actually an extended version of hand-held moxibustion, with a clip instead of a hand holding the clip.

In this way, the moxibustion will not burn your hands at the end, and the moxa sticks will not be wasted.

Moxa sticks are long cylindrical rolls made of moxa velvet wrapped in tissue paper. Moxa sticks are mainly used for moxibustion. Moxibustion is one of the oldest medical techniques in China. It is an external treatment method with traditional Chinese medicine. It can warm the meridians and dispel cold, circulate qi and blood, and remove cold and dampness. It is suitable for diseases such as wind-cold-damp paralysis, soreness and numbness of muscles, pain in joints and limbs, and cervical spondylosis.
