Apricots are spherical, sparsely obovate, about 2.5 cm in diameter, white, yellow to yellowish red, often reddish, slightly pubescent, juicy and indehiscent when mature.
Apricot trees are produced in all parts of China, most of which are cultivated, especially in North China, Northwest China and East China. A few areas fled to the wild and became pure forests in Yili, Xinjiang or mixed with wild apple forests in Xinjiang, with an altitude of 3000 meters. It is also cultivated all over the world.
Edible apricots are big, plump and juicy, moderately sweet and sour, and brightly colored. They are mainly used for raw food and processing. There are more than 200 cultivated varieties in North China and Northwest China.
