Taro dumplings are a famous Han Chinese snack, belonging to the traditional desserts in Fujian and Taiwan. The taro balls are made of groundnut flour, which makes them more Q-shaped, and tai bai flour, which makes them softer.
Similar foods are also available in mung bean paste instead of taro paste. Both are one of the famous snacks in Jiufen, Taiwan. Cooked taro balls can be eaten with and in iced sugar water, and are also eaten hot in winter. In Taiwan and Fujian, many desserts such as bean curd, shaved ice, can add some taro rounds and groundnut rounds covered with it to eat together.
