One day when he was sleeping, he heard someone shouting at him: "You don't want the Jade Emperor's golden man, so what do you really want?" Cangjie shouted in his sleep, "The people are hard, if only all the people in the world had food to eat." The next day, when Cangjie was about to go out, he was caught in an unusually sudden downpour.
The sky was filled with this grain, and it rained densely for nearly half an hour, covering the entire village. Cangjie was both happy and surprised, remembering the scene in his dream, and realizing that it was the Jade Emperor's reward for himself, he hurried to send someone to tell the Yellow Emperor. The Yellow Emperor was so impressed by Cangjie's achievement that he designated the day of the rain as the Grain Rain Festival, and ordered all the people in the world to sing and dance joyfully to thank the heaven every year, and some places even made this day as a festival to worship Cangjie.
