Sowing in the south in February-March and in autumn in September 9- 10/October, for the purpose of producing steamed fennel oil from stems and leaves, it is suitable to sow in autumn, because the seedlings after wintering grow faster, and the harvest times are more than that of spring sowing in that year, and the yield is higher. Sowing density should depend on the harvest site and soil fertility. Those with poor stem and leaf harvesting and local strength can be slightly denser, with row spacing of 825px, or 33×625px hole sowing, with about 0.6kg seeds per mu. The distance between rows and plants can be increased to 50×825px, and the seed for the first mu is about 0.5kg. Sowing method: drill a shallow ditch with a depth of about 175px, drill a deep hole with a depth of about 175px, evenly scatter seeds into the hole or ditch, sow 10- 15 seeds in each hole, and then cover with fine soil, so that the seeds are invisible, and the air in the north is dry. In Sichuan, the seeds used per mu are mixed with 200kg of plant ash and sieved, and then 80kg of human and animal manure is added. When sowing, one handful of seed ash is sprinkled on each hole, and each handful contains seeds 10- 15. If the soil is dry, it should be watered with thin manure before sowing.
