Changde, known as "Wuling" in ancient times and alias "Liucheng", is a provincial-level city in Hunan Province, a sub-central city in Hunan Province, one of the core cities in the ecological economic circle around Dongting Lake, and one of the 3+5 urban agglomerations in Changsha, Zhuzhou and Xiangtan. Located in the north of Hunan, west of Dongting Lake in the south of the Yangtze River and under Wuling Mountain, it is known as "the throat of Sichuan and Guizhou, the gateway of Yunnan and Guizhou". It is a famous cultural city with a history of 2,000 years, a national highway transportation hub city and a railway hub city in northwest Hunan.
