The oil yield is 6- 10%.
Camellia oleifera seed oil comes from the mature seeds of Camellia oleifera or Camellia microphylla, and is obtained by oil extraction techniques such as pressing and leaching. It is one of the oldest woody edible vegetable oils in China and one of the four largest woody vegetable oils in the world.
China is the largest production base of tea seed oil in the world, and only a few countries such as Southeast Asia and Japan distribute it.
It needs to be distinguished from a vegetable oil made from mature seeds of Camellia, which mainly aims at making tea, and it is not the same product as Camellia oleifera seeds.
It needs to be distinguished from a volatile vegetable oil (essential oil) made from fresh branches and leaves of Myrtaceae plants by distillation, and it is not the same product as tea seed oil. The true Camellia oleifera seed plant can reach 5 meters normally, with white flowers and spherical results (taking wild Camellia oleifera seed with yellow robe as an example, its red fruit has the highest oil yield and the richest nutrition). When the fruit is ripe, shell, oil or cold press it. Ancient books in China, such as Compendium of Materia Medica, have different names, but they all record that camellia oil comes from camellia oleifera.
