Menghua Railway, generally referred to as Haoji Railway, is the longest railway project under construction in the world at present, and it is a new strategic channel for the country to "transport coal from the north to the south". It starts from Haole Baoji Station in Inner Mongolia in the north and ends at Ji 'an Station in Jiangxi, with a total length of 1.837 km, a design speed of 1.20 km, and a planned transportation capacity of over 200 million tons/year, passing through Inner Mongolia, Shaanxi, Shanxi, Henan and Jiangxi.

Haoji Railway is a major project listed in the National Twelfth Five-Year Development Plan, the Outline of the Thirteenth Five-Year Development Plan and the Medium-and Long-term Railway Network Plan, and is listed as the first batch of 80 demonstration projects to encourage social investment in infrastructure and other fields.

Extended data

The Mongolia-China Railway runs through seven provinces in central and western China, and most of the areas it passes through are underdeveloped areas in the central and western regions. Therefore, after the opening and operation of the Mongolia-China Railway, it will broaden the channels for the areas along the line to get rid of poverty and become rich and well-off, and also increase the focus for the implementation of the strategy of developing the western region.

After the opening of Hua Meng Railway, with the improvement of investment and financing environment, it can promote the development of urbanization and upgrade the industrial structure along the railway. In addition, during the operation of passenger trains, the areas along the line will further contact with the outside world, thus promoting the rapid development of tourism and promoting the upgrading and sales of local products.
