1. Seed selection
Garlic cloves are actually garlic seeds. You can usually buy healthy garlic in the vegetable market or supermarket, and then choose full garlic cloves as excellent seeds for potted garlic. It should be noted that when peeling garlic cloves, you must peel off the outermost garlic skin and keep the transparent film inside.
2. Planting method
Garlic doesn't have high requirements for pot soil. Just find a suitable container and prepare some soil to sow the garlic cloves that have just been treated. You can also buy some nutritious soil if you have the conditions, which is very helpful for the healthy growth of garlic. When planting, pay attention to the tapering end facing up, and the garlic cloves are about 5 cm apart. After planting all garlic cloves, cover them with a thin layer of soil and pour enough water to keep the soil moist.
Step 3 apply fertilizer
Fertilizer can provide sufficient nutrients for crops and shorten the growth cycle of plants. Generally speaking, garlic planted at home can wait for it to grow by itself, or it can be properly applied with some nitrogen fertilizer to promote the growth of garlic. However, the newly planted garlic can't be fertilized, and it needs to be fertilized after the garlic seedlings are unearthed, otherwise the roots will be burned due to overnutrition. In addition, reduce the amount of watering when fertilizing. If you water too much, garlic will rot easily in potted plants.
