Ergodiacetamide, often referred to as "LSD", with chemical formula of C20H25N3O, is a strong semi-artificial hallucinogen. The typical dose of LSD is only 100 microgram, which is only one tenth of the weight of a grain of sand. LSD can strengthen and change the sense, feeling, memory and self-awareness of users for 6 to 12 hours, and can be used as a chemical weapon.
Extended data:
Ergodiacetamide is synthesized from ergot acid extracted from ergot fungi and other substances. Chemist albert hofmann first synthesized it in 1938, when he was conducting a large-scale research project on ergot compounds.
Inadvertently, the solutions originally packed in two test tubes were mixed together, and a magical reaction took place to synthesize a completely different substance. It is colorless, odorless and tasteless, just like clear pure water.
