Turmeric is a commonly used medicine, and its main bioactive components are curcuminoids and volatile oil.
The former has a hypolipidemic, anticoagulant, antioxidant, choleretic, anticancer and other effects; curcumin is a plant polyphenol extracted from turmeric, but also the most important active ingredient of turmeric to play a pharmacological role.
