1, "Qing Ping Le - Village Dwelling" Song Dynasty poet Xin Qiji

Original text:

The thatched roofs are low, and the grass is green on the stream.

Drunkenly, Wu Yin winks at each other, Whose old woman has white hair?

The eldest child is hoeing beans on the east side of the stream, and the middle child is weaving a chicken coop.

What I like most is that the youngest child is lying down and peeling the lotus seedpods at the head of the stream.

Translation:

The thatched roof of the straw hut is low and small, and the stream is full of turquoise grass. The Wu dialect, which contains drunkenness, sounds gentle and beautiful. Whose family is that old man with white hair? The eldest son was hoeing in the bean field on the east side of the stream, and the second son was busy weaving a chicken coop. The most favorite is the youngest son, who is lying across the grass at the head of the stream, peeling the freshly picked lotus seedpods.

2, "Village Dwelling" Qing Dynasty poet Gao Ding

Originally:

The grass grows and warblers fly in February, and the willows on the embankment are drunk with spring smoke.

Children return early from school, busy taking advantage of the east wind to release paper kites.

Translation:

In the second month of the lunar calendar, the grass in front of and behind the village has gradually sprouted and grown, and the yellow warblers fly around. The willows, draped in long green branches, swayed with the wind as if gently caressing the embankment. The vapor that evaporates between the water and the trees and grasses condenses like smoke. The willows seemed to be intoxicated by the richness of the scenery. The village children rushed home from school and took advantage of the east wind to fly their kites into the blue sky.

3, "Village Dwelling" Song Dynasty poet Zhang Shunmin

Originally:

The water surrounds the bamboo hedge in the bei paddies, and the hibiscus blossoms are scarce after the elm money has fallen.

No one is lying on the back of a cow in the setting sun, and the cold crows return in twos.

Translation:

The water surrounded the paddy fields, and the hedges were full of green bamboos; the elm money had fallen out, and the hibiscus flowers had become sparse. As the sun was setting, there were no shepherd boys riding and lying on the backs of the oxen, but only pairs of crows with them, strolling along the path back to the village.

4, "Drinking wine (five)" Wei Jin poet Tao Yuanming

Originally:

The hut is in the realm of the people, without the noise of carriages and horses.

What can you do? The heart is far away from the ground.

Picking chrysanthemums under the east hedge, leisurely seeing the south mountain.

The mountain air is good day and night, and the birds fly with each other.

There is a true meaning in this, which I want to recognize but have forgotten to say.

Translation:

Dwelling in the human world, but without the clamor of carriages and horses. Ask me how I can be so. As long as one's mind is high, one will naturally feel secluded in the place where one lives. In the east hedge under the picking chrysanthemums, leisurely, that far south of the mountain into the eyes. The breath of the mountains and the evening scenery is very good, there are birds, returning in company. This contains the true meaning of life, want to recognize, but do not know how to express.

5, "seven songs of idyllic music - its four" Tang dynasty poet Wang Wei?

Originally:

Lush spring grasses are green in autumn, and fallen long pines are cold in summer.

The cows and sheep return to their villages and lanes, and the children do not know how to dress.

Translation: The lush spring grasses still show a vibrant green in the fall. The tall, straight pine trees are cool in summer shade. The cows and sheep do not need to be driven by people, and will return to the village alleys by themselves. The children are innocent and do not recognize the dignitaries.
