Near Love is a 2014 drama produced by Nippon Television, written by Yuko Matsuda, directed by Isato Kawai and Kei Nakakanishi, and starring Arashi Abe in the title role, and Anna Ishibashi and Yuta Kishi in the ****ing roles. The episodes are a spin-off of the movie of the same name based on the original manga by Rin Mikimoto, set 10 years before the time set in the movie version, and aired as a prequel on July 19, 2014, long before the movie.
Synopsis
The 27-year-old Sakurai Yao (Yamashita Tomohisa) works as an English teacher at Nishizumi High School, where he is handsome and loved by female students. One day Sakurai receives a text message that brings back memories of his high school days.
In his high school days, 17-year-old Yao (played by Abe) and his childhood friends Ayukawa Satoru (played by Kishi Yuta) and Takizawa Mirai (played by Ishibashi Anna) were the best friends that anyone would envy, and the three of them lived a carefree life, thinking that it would be great if such a relationship could last forever at this moment.
