What should I eat when I am sick?
You should eat light food during a cold. If the cold is subdivided, it can be divided into wind-cold type, wind-heat type and summer-heat type. Cold-type colds should try to avoid eating cold food. You can eat some warm food first, or drink some soup, but try to avoid eating melons and fruits, especially watermelons, cantaloupes and cucumbers. Wind-heat type cold can eat some foods that can diminish inflammation and diuresis, clear away heat and toxic materials, and make a fire, such as celery, lily, spinach, lettuce and so on. But no matter what kind of cold it is, we should give priority to a light diet and avoid excessive intake of high protein or seafood such as fish, shrimp and crab to avoid diarrhea.
