Yuanxiao's unique taste: rose and chocolate.
Tangyuan has a unique taste: meat and ham.
Both tastes: red bean paste, sesame and fruit.
2. The production time and method are different.
The most common way to cook Yuanxiao is to eat it. Because Yuanxiao is big and heavy, it takes a relatively long time to cook it, which takes about ten minutes.
And the dumplings can be cooked in as little as 3-5 minutes.
In addition to cooking, Yuanxiao can also be fried, or pulled, steamed or baked.
But Tangyuan has never heard of these practices.
3. Different fillings are selected
Tangyuan stuffing is soft, and there are many choices of salty, sweet and vegetarian dishes.
Yuanxiao stuffing is hard, generally single sweet mouth.
In addition to the traditional five kernels, red bean paste and hawthorn cake, there are also coarse grains, fruits and flowers.
Yuanxiao is mainly sweet, and black sesame seeds and red bean paste are common.
4. The boiled soup is different.
After the Yuanxiao is cooked, the soup will be thicker, like glutinous rice porridge, with soft skin, hard and "biting" stuffing, and rich fruit and rice fragrance.
The soup cooked with glutinous rice balls is clearer.
