What is the surgical treatment of intestinal polyps?
Surgical treatment of polyps and polyposis generally includes: local resection, intestinal resection, subtotal colectomy, total colectomy, total colectomy and rectal resection. It depends on the number of polyps, the width and position of the base.

(1) Single pedicle polyp can be removed by endoscope, electrocoagulation or ligation. If the volume is large, you can choose to remove the intestinal wall and segment.

(2) Pediceless or wide-pedicled polyps, located below peritoneal folds, can be locally removed through anus (generally, the distance between polyps and anal margin is less than 5cm) or through retrosacral approach (the distance between polyps and anal margin is 6 ~ 9 cm); Intestinal wall resection or partial resection is feasible for polyps located above peritoneal folds.

(3) Polyposis can be treated by total colectomy, rectal excision and ileostomy. Total colectomy, rectal excision and ileal pouch anus anastomosis; Subtotal colectomy and cecorectal anastomosis; Total colectomy and ileal pouch rectal anastomosis.

For surgically removed polyps, rapid pathological examination should be routinely sent, and further treatment should be decided according to the rapid pathological results.
