Distinguishing and treating wind-cold colds and wind-heat colds
Colds are common exogenous diseases in all seasons, especially in winter and spring. Many families have Chinese patent medicines to treat colds. Some people take a lot of medicine after catching a cold, but their symptoms are not relieved. The key is that there is no syndrome differentiation and medication.
Traditional Chinese medicine believes that colds can generally be divided into two categories: wind-cold colds and wind-heat colds. The etiology, pathogenesis, symptoms, treatment principles and medications of these two colds are very different.
Wind-cold colds are caused by external attacks of wind-cold evils and loss of lung qi. Symptoms include: severe aversion to cold, mild fever, no sweat, headache and body aches, nasal congestion and runny nose, cough and thin white phlegm, lack of thirst or preference for hot drinks, and thin white fur. The treatment method should be mainly pungent and warm to relieve symptoms. Commonly used medicines such as ephedra, schizonepeta, saposhnikovia, perilla leaf, etc. are used to relieve external symptoms and dispel cold. The representative prescriptions are "Green Onion Soup" and "Jingfang Baidu Powder". For taking Chinese patent medicines, you can choose Ganmao Qingre granules, Zhengbuihuyin granules, Ganmao soft capsules, Chuanxiong tea powder, Tongxuanlifei pills, etc. After taking the medicine, you can drink some hot porridge or hot soup and sweat slightly to help dispel wind and cold. You can also take this prescription if you suffer from wind-cold and cold: 5 scallions, 9 grams of light tempeh, and 3 slices of ginger, decoction in water and take once a day; or 30 grams of ginger and 30 grams of brown sugar, decoction and take three times.
Wind-heat cold is caused by the evil of wind-heat attacking the surface and causing the imbalance of lung qi. Symptoms include severe fever, mild wind, head bloating and pain, sweating, sore throat, cough, sticky or yellow phlegm, nasal congestion and yellow discharge, thirsty drinkers, red tip of tongue, thin white and yellowish coating. The treatment method should be mainly pungent and cool to relieve symptoms. Chrysanthemum, mint, mulberry leaves, etc. are often used. The representative prescriptions are "Yinqiao Powder" and "Sangju Drink". For taking patent medicines, you can choose Yinqiao Jiedu Pills (tablets), Lingqiao Jiedu Pills, Sangju Cold Tablets, Banlangen Granules, etc. If the fever is severe and the throat is swollen and painful, you can take Shuanghuanglian oral liquid (infusion) and Qingrejiedu oral liquid. These medicines have good heat-clearing and detoxifying effects. If you suffer from wind-heat and cold, you should drink more water and eat a light diet. You can drink carrot soup or pear soup. You can also take prescriptions for wind-heat and cold: 3 grams of mint, 30 grams of reed root, 15 grams of isatis root, and raw licorice for 6 days, one dose per day; or 10 grams of bamboo leaves, 3 grams of mint, 9 grams of almonds, and 9 grams of forsythia. , one dose per day.
How to distinguish between wind-heat cold and wind-cold cold
Recently, I often hear friends say they have a cold. They are drinking isatis root, antiviral oral liquid, honeysuckle, herbal tea, etc. I usually advise my friends that you have not correctly distinguished between wind-cold colds and wind-heat colds.
Why do you say this? The weather in Guangdong has been cooling down recently. If you catch a cold at this time, nine out of ten people will get a cold. I just caught a cold due to the wind. It usually occurs when you don't get enough rest, are weak, don't wear enough clothes, and sweat profusely.
Traditional Chinese medicine divides common colds into wind-cold colds and wind-heat colds. In fact, many friends can’t tell what is a cold and a cold.
Wind-cold is usually caused by fatigue, lack of rest, and wind or cold. Colds usually occur more frequently in autumn and winter. Colds and colds are symptoms of the Taiyang Meridian, and the sun's activation is blocked. The characteristic symptoms are:
* Strong pain in the back of the head, which means pain in the back of the head, accompanied by inflexible rotation of the neck.
* I am afraid of cold and wind, so I usually have to wear a lot of clothes or cover myself with a big quilt to feel comfortable.
* The nasal mucus is clear, white or slightly yellow. If you have a stuffy nose but no runny nose, drink some hot water and clear runny nose will start. This is also a cold.
* Tongue has no coating or thin white coating
* If you can check the pulse, you should be fine The pulse seems to be floating and tight. The floating pulse means that Yang Qi is on the surface and can be obtained easily.
I went to the drugstore, but surprisingly I couldn’t find any Chinese patent medicine suitable for treating colds and colds. The key to treating colds and colds is to sweat a little (in Chinese medicine, it is called pungent and warm to relieve the symptoms). There are many methods, including sauna, soaking your feet in hot water (preferably with some wine), and playing a game of basketball (if you still have the strength) ), cover yourself with two layers of quilts, drink ginger syrup, drink ginger porridge, eat spicy hot pot, etc. The main prescription for treating colds and colds is Guizhi Decoction, which is the first prescription for treating typhoid fever and is also known as the king of harmonious agents (Mahuang Decoction is also used to treat colds and colds, but it should be used with caution in the south). I will transcribe the recipe for Guizhi Decoction below, and interested friends can write it down for emergencies.
Guizhi 10g, white peony root 10g, licorice 6g, 3 slices of ginger
6 red dates
A very simple recipe, only two or three yuan. Master said that if you understand Guizhi Decoction, you will know how to prescribe and treat diseases. It is really worth studying.
Wind-heat and colds are usually caused by constipation, often due to Yangming Meridian syndrome. The usual situation is like this. After two days of constipation, there will be a sore throat for one or two days, and then cold symptoms will appear. This is wind-heat cold (it can also be exogenous heat evil, which first affects the lungs). Why does constipation cause colds? Traditional Chinese medicine believes that the lungs and large intestine are mutually exclusive, and if defecation is not smooth, cold symptoms will occur if the large intestine affects the lungs. Likewise, conversely, if a cold is not treated promptly or if the treatment is not correct, external evils can enter the body and cause constipation or diarrhea. In fact, diarrhea after a cold is a metamorphosis in Chinese medicine, as the disease comes from the outside in. People should not use antidiarrheal drugs casually.
Symptoms of wind-heat and cold:
* Sore throat, usually before cold symptoms, and phlegm is usually yellow or black.
* Thick nasal discharge, usually yellow
* The tongue coating is slightly yellow, or it may be white, and the tongue body is usually red.
* Constipation
* Body heat, thirst, upset
* The pulse pattern is usually several pulses or flood pulses, which means the pulse is faster than normal, which is big.
After understanding the causes of wind-heat and cold, the treatment is very simple. In most cases, it is just laxative (coupled with heat-clearing and surface-relieving drugs, the effect usually takes effect quickly). There are many methods, such as drinking some herbal tea; taking some isatis root, a heat-clearing and detoxifying drug. Chinese patent medicines include Sanhuang Tablets, Yinqiao Jiedu Tablets + Niuhuang Jiedu Tablets, Isatis Root and so on. You can also take some honeysuckle oral liquid to treat wind-heat and cold. The representative prescription for Yangming Meridian syndrome is Baihu Decoction, but I don’t recommend that you use it casually. It is one of the most powerful medicines, so I won’t copy it here.
Finally, let me clarify some concepts that friends may be confused about.
* Viral cold does not mean wind-heat cold. Virus is the term used by Western medicine. Traditional Chinese medicine pays more attention to the human body. Therefore, it is incorrect for some doctors to treat viral colds the same as wind-heat colds.
* Sore throat is not the key to distinguishing between wind-heat cold and wind-chill cold. Wind-chill cold can also cause sore throat in many cases.
* Likewise, a cough, runny nose, and high fever do not distinguish between the two colds.
* Do not perform Western medicine treatment and Chinese medicine treatment at the same time. These are two different treatment systems. Once antibiotics are prescribed, there is no need to drink ginger syrup. Why? Think about it, everyone, one is trying to cool down the body, and the other is trying to make the body sweat, which is almost the other way around. Can the body handle it? This will not only reduce the effectiveness of traditional Chinese medicine, but also reduce the effectiveness of western medicine
