Usage of antipyretic drugs
First, there are many kinds of heat-clearing drugs with different properties. When applying them, we must choose the appropriate heat-clearing drugs according to the type of heat syndrome and the location of pathogenic heat.
Second, heat-clearing drugs must be properly compatible according to the symptoms of concurrent diseases. If exterior pathogens are not exhausted and interior heat is abundant, they can be used together. Damp-heat can be combined with diuretic and dampness-permeable drugs; Those with excess heat in the interior can be matched with attacking drugs; For those with excessive heat and wind-moving, wind-calming drugs can be prepared, and for those with heat entering pericardium and coma, resuscitation drugs can be prepared; Blood-heat mania can be matched with hemostatic drugs; Yin-nourishing drugs can be used for those who are injured by pathogenic heat. In addition, it can be used for clearing qi and cooling blood simultaneously, such as burning both heat and blood in the stomach.
Third, heat-clearing drugs must stop the disease in the middle, and they should not be taken for a long time, so as not to hurt Yang; Drugs for bitter cold and dampness may damage yin, so they should be used with caution.
Four, the application of antipyretic drugs, must be based on the severity of illness and drug texture, consider the dosage, and pay attention to usage.
