Hairtail is widely distributed, mainly in the western Pacific Ocean and the Indian Ocean. It can be seen in all coastal provinces of China.
Hairtail along the coast of China can be divided into two categories: south and north. The individual hairtail in the north is larger than that in the south. It overwinters in the south of the Yellow Sea, swims to the Bohai Sea in spring, forming a spring fish season, and returns to the wintering area in autumn to form an autumn fish season.
The hairtail in the south moves north and south along the western edge of the East China Sea every year according to different seasons, and migrates north in spring and south in winter. Hairtail in the East China Sea can be divided into spring flood and winter flood.
Hairtail spawns for a long time, mainly from April to June, followed by September ~11month, with a spawning amount of 25,000 ~ 35,000, and the suitable water temperature for spawning is17℃ ~ 23℃.
