What is even more embarrassing is that each kind of board has a different name, and everyone loves to lean on "solid wood". For example, solid wood board, solid wood particle board, multi-layer solid wood board-in fact, they are not the kind of solid wood we imagined, they all belong to artificial boards-the boards made by cutting solid wood directly are called "original boards". Today, we will sum up the common artificial boards and talk about the differences between them while comparing them.
First, particleboard
Particleboard is a thin board made of wood particles as the main raw material, then infiltrated with glue and additives. According to the pressing method, it can be divided into extruded particleboard and flat pressed particleboard. The main advantage of this kind of plate is that it is extremely cheap. Its disadvantage is also obvious: the strength is extremely poor. Generally, it is not suitable for making large-scale or mechanically demanding homes.
Second, the density board
Density board, also known as fiberboard. It is an artificial board made of wood fiber or other plant fiber with urea-formaldehyde resin or other suitable adhesives. The board classification: according to its density, it is divided into high-density board, medium-density board and low-density board. Dense density board is easy to reprocess because of its softness and impact resistance. In foreign countries, MDF is a good material for making furniture. However, because the national standard for height boards is several times lower than the international standard, the use quality of MDF in China needs to be improved.
Third, the multilayer board
Also known as "plywood" and "multilayer solid wood board"; Or according to the number of layers, it is called "three-ply board" and "five-ply board"; Or according to the thickness, it is called "five-centimeter board" and "nine-centimeter board" (one centimeter is one millimeter). It is to cut wood into thin pieces and then stick these pieces together with glue. It is relatively simple to make, but because the size of the single-layer board is too large, it can't be hot-pressed, and it is almost completely adhered by the power of glue. In other words, the amount of glue used in eco-boards is the largest. It is precisely because of this that the eco-board is now very embarrassing: either the environmental protection is not up to standard, and the board is full of formaldehyde; Either use environmentally friendly glue, but the cost is greatly increased and the price is extremely high.
