Cocoa powder is cocoa beans (seeds) taken from pods (fruits) produced by cocoa trees. Cocoa chips (commonly known as cocoa cakes) are obtained by fermentation, coarse crushing and peeling. Cocoa cakes are defatted and crushed to obtain powder, which is cocoa powder.
There are two kinds of chocolate now, one is pure chocolate, which is chocolate made of cocoa beans. This kind of chocolate is closely related to cocoa powder. There is also a substitute for cocoa butter, which is an artificial stearin that can melt quickly. Cocoa butter substitutes have nothing to do with cocoa beans and cocoa powder.
