Because I don’t have many opportunities to interact with other children, the most heart-warming gift I received was from my son. He was only five years old at the time. I didn’t expect that he would actually draw a picture for me on my birthday. It felt really heart-warming because he had never told his children when my birthday was. I was so grateful that he could be so thoughtful. I was so moved that I even picked flowers from outside with my father. That painting is still in the drawer. Even though it has been so many years, it is still well preserved.
To this day, the contents of the painting are still fresh in my memory, and I occasionally take them out to look at. The painting is of our home, and then replaced by our family of three. The mother in the painting is wearing an apron and holding a plate of cooked food in her hand. The father and baby are standing on both sides of the mother. Some details of the home are also fully drawn, such as the dining table, sofa, etc. Just seeing this painting brings tears to my eyes, it's so heartwarming. There are some childish handwritings on the painting, and my son even wrote the words "Happy Birthday Mom" ??crookedly on it. It seems that he imitated it after his father wrote it.
To be honest, if an outsider looks at it alone, they may think this painting is not good-looking, or even ugly. It is undeniable that my son does not have much talent for painting, but this painting is the most beautiful in my eyes. It is more precious than any gift I have received in this life, maybe because this is the first gift that my son has given me. Later, when it was my birthday, my son would always prepare a gift for me, and he would also specially mark my birthday on his calendar.
As my son grows older, he may use his usual pocket money to buy some things as gifts for me. He even once made a cake with his own hands. Although I I like them all. I think in comparison, I still like the painting that my son drew by himself when he was 5 years old the most.
