1972 10. In October, the 27th UN General Assembly passed a resolution to designate June 5th as "World Environment Day". According to the world's major environmental problems and hot spots in that year, the United Nations formulated the theme of "World Environment Day" every year. Every year, the United Nations system and governments all over the world carry out various activities on this day to publicize the importance of protecting and improving the human environment. At the same time, the United Nations Environment Programme publishes the Annual Report on the Status of the Environment and holds an international conference in recognition of the "Top 500 in the World".
