8 Pharmacological effects

Antiviral effects The test in a petri dish showed that the oil of bay leaf was impregnated with a 2cm diameter circular filter paper sheet, and then allowed to evaporate in a petri dish, and then the lid of the dish was added with 0.02ml of rhinovirus 17 diluent (containing 100TCID50 of the virus), and the effect of killing was achieved by contact with the oil at 33℃ for 60 minutes. With gauze strips of rhinovirus 17, influenza virus A3 Kunjun 75 five strains, adenovirus 7 contact 30 minutes, 60 minutes and 120 minutes, to contact more than 60 minutes of the role of the obvious, the human embryo trachea block to add 0.2 ml of rhinovirus 17 100 to 1000 TCID50, adsorption for 30 minutes, and bay leaf oil (dipped and coated with 2 cm diameter round filter paper) to play the gas contact 90 minutes, can kill the virus. If the adsorption is extended for more than 3h, the volatile oil can not completely kill the virus. This suggests that part of the virus invades the cells of the trachea block, while the volatile oil cannot enter the cells.
