Historical origin

Spring and Autumn and Warring States, Ji Nan City (the capital of the State of Chu, Ji Nan City ruins in today's Jingzhou City, north) outside the South Gate, there is a "Lily Fresh Fish Farm", Chu Zhuang Wang one day outing this fish farm, occasional food and love, and then was cited as a first course of the Chu Palace Court. Until the Qing Dynasty, is still included in the court dishes. It is said that Qianlong tasted Jingzhou fish cake off the mouth and chanting: "eating fish do not see fish, can be human lily cake.
