Is cholecystitis serious?
Cholecystitis itself is not serious, but some chronic cholecystitis is asymptomatic, that is, resting cholecystitis. Or, although there are symptoms, dull pain, abdominal distension and discomfort, it is actually not that serious, but there are some special circumstances, such as Mirizzi's syndrome. We know that many cholecystitis are complicated with gallstones. If the stone part of gallstone grows poorly and the stone gets stuck in the neck of the gallbladder, this situation will easily lead to poor bile flow, bile will accumulate in the gallbladder, and the gallbladder will become swollen. This situation is very painful. In addition, if gallstones get stuck in the neck of gallbladder, it is easy to make the neck press in the direction of bile duct, resulting in Mirizzi syndrome, that is, two walls are forced into one wall. This situation is more dangerous, so we need to be on high alert for fear of gallbladder perforation. But this kind of situation is not necessarily encountered in clinic, and it is a minority. In short, if the symptoms of gallbladder inflammation are not particularly obvious, you can go to the clinic for regular follow-up; If the pain is obvious, you can't be careless to prevent gallbladder perforation, peritonitis and secondary infection shock. This is a benign disease in itself. If you put your life on the line, it's not worth the loss.
