The severity of morning sickness is not a criterion to judge the sex of the fetus.
Fetal sex is determined by chromosomes.
Normal human cells have 23 pairs of chromosomes, of which 22 pairs are autosomes, and only 1 sex chromosome determines sex. There are two kinds of sex chromosomes: X chromosome and Y chromosome. The male sex chromosome is xy type and the female sex chromosome is xx type.
Women's eggs have only one X chromosome, while men's sperm have two kinds of chromosomes, X and Y. When the sperm of X chromosome combines with the egg, the fertilized egg chromosome is xx type, which is a female fetus, while the sperm of Y chromosome combines with the egg, and the fertilized egg chromosome is xy type, which is a male fetus.
