It is a medium-early maturing crispy meat variety. The fruit is long and cylindrical, weighing 1.8 to 2 kilograms per melon. The peel has a gray-green background, covered with yellow-green and dark green patches, and has 10 green medium-wide longitudinal grooves. There are thin and sparse cracks on both ends of the fruit. The skin is 0.5 cm thick. , orange-red flesh, 3 cm thick, crisp texture, medium juice, soluble solids content of about 15, and the highest is 18. Not resistant to storage and transportation, and has poor disease resistance.
(2) Crispy white skin is a famous variety in northern Xinjiang. Early maturing, with a full growth period of 85 to 90 days and a fruit development period of 35 days. The fruit is oval in shape and a single melon weighs 1.5 kg. The surface of the fruit is white, with 10 transparent shallow grooves. The fruit is neatly shaped, white and rosy inside when ripe, and looks beautiful. The flesh is orange-red, 3.1 cm thick, fine and crispy, with moderate juice, soluble solids content of 12.5, medium-to-high flavor, and better moisture resistance than ordinary Xinjiang melons. It can also be cultivated in protected areas in eastern my country.
(3) Net Wenxiang is a high-sugar variety bred on the farm of the Sixth Agricultural Division of the Xinjiang Construction Corps. The full growth period is about 100 days, and the fruit development period is 45 to 50 days. The fruit is short oval, and a single melon weighs 1.5 to 2 kilograms. The surface of the fruit is earthy yellow, covered with green or dark green spots, and the whole fruit is densely covered in net patterns. The flesh is green and white, 3 cm thick, and the flesh is fine and crispy. When overripe, it becomes soft and fiber increases. The juice is medium and mellow. The refractive sugar content is 16, the sugar content is stable, and the quality is high. It is more resistant to leaf diseases and has a yield of 2000 kg per 667 m2. The fruit can be stored for about half a month and should be transported over short distances.
(4) Red Heart Crisp is the variety with the best quality in Xinjiang and has long been exported. Medium ripe, with a full growth period of 100 to 105 days and a fruit development period of 45 to 48 days. The fruit is oval or oblong, with an average weight of 3.0 kilograms per melon. The peel is gray-green with dark green spots, and the shade is light yellow with a reddish hue. The fruit surface is slightly ridged, with a coarse net pattern covering the entire fruit. The flesh is light orange-red, 3.2 cm thick, tender and crispy, sweet and juicy, with an earthy smell in some cases. The soluble solids content is 14.2, up to 18.0, with excellent flavor and high quality. It is relatively resistant to storage and transportation, has poor disease resistance and adaptability, and has high requirements for cultivation conditions. The yield of commercial melons is less than 1,000 kg per 667 m2, and the annual planting area is only 300 to 500 hectares. It is mainly sold to Hong Kong, Singapore and other places in my country.
(5) Smiling Breeding at Turpan Agricultural Technology Station in Xinjiang. Medium ripe, with a full growth period of 95 days, 1 week earlier than Red Heart Crisp, and a fruit development period of 45 days. The fruit is long oval or oval, with yellow fruit surface covered with dark green scattered stripes, medium reticulation, densely distributed throughout the fruit, a single melon weighs about 3.0 kg, and the fruit stalk does not fall off. The peel is tight and brittle and the fruit will crack easily. The flesh is light orange-red, 3.5 cm thick, the texture is particularly tender and crisp, the juice is medium, sweet and refreshing, the soluble solids content is about 15.0, the quality is good, the seed cavity is small and full, it is resistant to storage and transportation, and can be stored until around the Spring Festival.
(6) Queen was bred in cooperation between the Horticulture Research Institute of the Xinjiang Academy of Agricultural Sciences and the Xinjiang Grape and Fruit Development Research Center. Medium ripe, with a full growth period of 105 days and a fruit development period of 50 days. The fruit is long rod-shaped or oblong. A single melon weighs 3.5 to 4.0 kilograms. The fruit stalk does not fall off. The peel is yellow, with green hidden stripes when immature. When mature, the surface turns into a gorgeous golden yellow, with dense reticulation throughout the fruit. The flesh is orange-red, 4.0 cm thick, crisp and refreshing, with medium juice and a soluble solids content of more than 15%. The cortex is hard and tough and can withstand storage and transportation. Each plant bears 1 to 2 melons, with a yield of 3000 to 4000 kg per 667 m2. The leaf diseases are mild and require high fertilizer and water requirements. If there is drought during the fruit expansion period, it is easy to grow into deformed melons. Due to its eye-catching appearance, high output and good quality, it is mainly sold to Guangdong and other southern provinces in my country, and the product name is "Golden Queen".
(7) Red Manna was bred by the Horticulture Research Institute of the Xinjiang Academy of Agricultural Sciences. Medium ripe, with a full growth period of 95 days and a fruit development period of 45 days. The fruit is nearly oval or elliptical in shape. A single melon weighs 2.5 kilograms. The fruit stalk does not fall off. The surface of the fruit is yellow-green, covered with less obvious green stripes. The reticulation is densely distributed throughout the fruit, and some parts are rarely split vertically.
The flesh is orange-red, 3.4 cm thick, crispy, medium juice, soluble solids content 15, up to 18, medium to high quality. The cortex is hard, slightly tough, does not crack, and is resistant to storage and transportation. Generally, the yield is more than 2500 kg per 667 m2.
(8) Western Region No. 1 was jointly bred by Xinjiang Bayi Agricultural College and Changji Horticulture Farm. A medium-maturing species with a full growth period of 93 to 105 days. The fruit is medium large, oval, and a single melon weighs 2.0 to 3.0 kg. The fruit surface is yellow-green in color, fully covered with mesh, the flesh is 4.0 to 5.0 cm thick, the seed cavity is small, the soluble solids content is 17.0, it tastes sweet, and the flesh is white, fine, soft, fragrant and of excellent quality. The plants have strong fruiting strength and high yield, with the maximum yield reaching more than 4,000 kilograms per 667 m2.
(9) Xinmiza No. 7 was jointly bred by the Horticulture Research Institute of the Xinjiang Academy of Agricultural Sciences and the Hami Agricultural Science and Technology Development Center. Medium ripe, with a full growth period of about 115 days and a fruit development period of 55 days. The fruit is oval or oblong, with an average weight of 3.5 kg per melon, and the fruit stalk does not fall off. The fruit surface is yellow-green, covered with dark green stripes, with medium-to-thick reticulation and densely distributed throughout the fruit. The flesh is orange-red, 4.0 cm thick, crispy and juicy, with a soluble solids content of 13.0, and the quality is medium to high. The cortex is hard and resistant to storage and transportation. It can be stored at room temperature for 1 month after harvesting at the right time. Harvesting in late September can be used for winter storage. It has good adaptability and high output. Generally, the output is more than 3000 kg per 667 m2. The product has good effect in canning.
(10) Karaxai, also known as Jiashigua. Now cultivated throughout Xinjiang, it is the late-maturing melon variety with the largest planting area and the best quality in Xinjiang. The total growth period is 120 to 130 days, and the fruit development period is 55 to 60 days. The fruit is oblong in shape, and a single melon weighs 5.6 kilograms. The fruit surface of the authentic variety is black and green, bright and shiny, without reticulation, while the fruit surface of the new selection is grey-green with all reticulation. The peel is thin and tough, the flesh is orange-red, 4.5 cm thick, the flesh is crispy, moderately tight, sweet and refreshing, the juice is medium, the soluble solids content is 13.0 to 14.0, and the flavor is excellent. It is extremely resistant to storage and transportation and can be stored without losing flavor until April of the following year. The unique advantage of this variety is that after the fruit partially rots, the entire melon flavor remains unchanged. The output is more than 4,000 kilograms per 667 m2, and it sells well all over the country in autumn and winter.
(11) White melon was introduced from the United States. It is a late maturing species with a full growth period of 120 days and a fruit development period of 45 to 50 days. The fruit is round and the average weight per melon is 1.5 kg. The fruit surface is white and smooth. When mature, the shade side is milky white and the sunny side is slightly yellow. The top and umbilicus are slightly protruding. The flesh is green and 3.0-4.0 cm thick. The flesh is soft and juicy. It has a delicious fragrance. The soluble solids content is 14.0. It is of high quality and durable. Storage and transportation.
(12) Yellow River Honey, bred by the Melon Research Institute of Gansu Agricultural University. It is medium mature and has a full growth period about 10 days earlier than that of white melon. The fruit is round or oblong, with an average weight of 2.1 kg per melon. The peel is golden yellow, smooth and beautiful, the flesh is green or yellow-white, the flesh is tight, the juice is medium, the soluble solids content is 14.5, the highest is 18.0.
(13) Zaohuangmi was bred by the Agricultural Science Institute of the 6th Agricultural Division of Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps. Early maturing, with a full growth period of 75 to 80 days and a fruit development period of 30 days. The fruit is short oval, with orange peel when fully mature and fully reticulated. The pulp is white, fine and crispy in texture, of good quality, and has a soluble solids content of 15.0. The average weight of a single melon is 2.0 kg, and the yield per 667 m2 can reach up to 2000-2500 kg. There is a certain area of ??cultivation in Changji and other places in Xinjiang.
(14) Huang Zuixian was bred in cooperation between the Horticulture Research Institute of the Xinjiang Academy of Agricultural Sciences and the Xinjiang Grape and Fruit Development Research Center. Early maturing, with a full growth period of 77 days and a fruit development period of 35 days. The fruit is round or high-round, and a single melon weighs 1.5 kilograms. The surface of the fruit is golden yellow with fine texture. The flesh is light green, 3.5 cm thick, soft, rich in juice, with a pleasant aroma, and the soluble solids content is about 15.0. It is easy to plant melons, with 2 to 3 melons per plant, and the general yield is 2,500 to 3,000 kilograms per 667 m2.
(15) Hetao honeydew melon is an excellent local variety in the Hetao area of ??Inner Mongolia. It matures early, with a full growth period of about 100 days and a fruit development period of 47 days. The fruit is broad and oval, and a single melon weighs 0.75 kg.
The peel is orange-yellow, the fruit surface is smooth, the flesh is light green, the flesh is thin and crispy when mature, the soluble solids content is more than 14.0, it is fragrant, sweet and refreshing, and it is not resistant to storage and transportation. Resistant to blight, but not anthracnose.
(16) Xinmi 15, formerly known as Xiangfeimi, was bred by the Xinjiang Hami Melon Science and Technology Research Center. Medium ripe, with a full growth period of 95 to 100 days and a fruit development period of 45 days. The fruit is oval in shape, turns golden yellow when fully mature, and is covered with green spots and fully reticulated. The flesh is orange-red, with a fine, loose, crisp and refreshing texture, good quality, and an average soluble solids content of 14.8, with a maximum of 18. The fruit stalk does not fall off when mature, the melon does not crack in the field, and it is durable for storage and transportation. The average weight of a single melon is 3.2 kg, and the yield is 2500-4500 kg per 667 m2. It has strong disease resistance, especially resistance to Phytophthora and Fusarium wilt.
