Property tycoon Wang Xiaohu (Eric Tsang) bumps into an old man catching chickens on the street. The hot air balloon pilot in the sky, Li Dachun (Xia Yu), sees the scene but doesn't realize that the old man is his own father-in-law. Dachun calls his wife Huan'er (Gigi Leung) and asks her to come home to have dinner with her husband, but she flatly refuses. Huan'er has a grudge against her father for kicking her out of the house because of her job as a beer girl.
The old man has a blood clot in his brain due to a crash and needs immediate surgery. Dachun, who is a loser, musters up the courage to ask Wang Xiaohu for money three or four times, but he is kicked out.
After 80 years, a girl named Sugar (played by Tang Yan) is Xiaohu's lover, and at the same time, she is in love with the "pianist" Qiao Bang (played by Qi Mou). In order to tour the country, Qiao Bang borrowed 300,000 dollars from a loan shark, who is now after him. In order to repay the debt for Qiaobang, Sugar directed and staged the kidnapping.
