Xunjiang River, also known as Sangjiang River, is a river in southern China and is the main source of the upper reaches of Beijiang River.
The upper reaches are the Qianjiang River and the Yujiang River. After they merge in Guiping City, Guangxi Province, the section where they merge with the Guijiang River in Wuzhou City is called the Xunjiang River, and the lower part is called the Beijiang River. The total length is 199 kilometers, the average width of the river is 573 meters, the average water depth is 3.8 meters, and the maximum flow rate in the dry season is 45,000 cubic meters/second. Xunjiang Fish Xunjiang River is rich in aquatic resources. Xunjiang fish is as famous as Hepu pearl and Rongxian Shatian pomelo, and is also known as the "Three Treasures of Guangxi". The most famous fish in the Xunjiang River is the anchovy (shí). Anchovy (black and green back, silvery white belly, fat under the scales, delicious meat) is native to the Pacific Ocean. Every spring and summer, swarms of shad swim into the inland rivers through the South China Sea, along the Pearl River and the Xijiang River. Xunjiang lays eggs to reproduce offspring. In the area along the Xunjiang River, people often call it "Sanjiu Fish", which means that it must come every year in the third month of the lunar calendar. During the fishing season, thousands of sails are flying on the river about a hundred miles from the urban area of ??Guiping to the mouth of the Dahuang River, and fishermen compete to catch three catfish. The scene is extremely spectacular. The three-tailed fish is flat and long in shape, white to silver in color, has horn scales under its abdomen, is rich in fat, and is delicious. There are many fine thorns in the meat of Sanjiao fish, but a skilled chef is good at handling the knife and cuts it well, and can cook unique and delicious dishes. Unfortunately, the production of salmon has been greatly reduced in recent years.
Whitebait production is not large, but it is the best among Xunjiang fish. This fish has a round and slender body, white and scaleless body, and its eyes are two small ink dots. It is shaped like noodles, so it is also called "noodle fish". Silverbait is about two inches long. Du Fu, a poet of the Tang Dynasty, once said, "It's like a two-inch fish." This fish can be simmered, fried or stir-fried, and can be made into soup, which is extremely delicious.
The anchovy can be said to be the dominant fish in the Xunjiang aquarium. This kind of fish has an oblong body and a long and narrow head. The heaviest fish can weigh up to 10 to 20 kilograms each. The anchovy has a big mouth and a strong snout, and likes to feed on other fish. Therefore, the ancient book said: "If there is this in the pond, you cannot keep fish." The anchovy fish is ferocious and reckless in nature. It is accustomed to swimming into small rivers and streams when the water rises, and returning to the river when the water recedes. The fishermen understood the pattern of its movements and set up wooden piles as barriers at the entrance of the creek. When the anchovy found the wooden piles blocking the way, it was so angry that it stepped back a foot or two, and then rushed forward desperately. The result is often dizziness, dizziness and stagnant water, which becomes people's lunch.
