The skate (yao), is a collective name for a variety of flat-bodied cartilaginous fish. There are more than 100 species of basket fish found around the world, in addition to the South Pacific Ocean and the northeastern coast of South America, in all temperate and tropical shallow waters are distributed. Basketfishes have rounded or diamond-shaped bodies, with broad pectoral fins that flare out from the end of the muzzle to the root of the slender tail; some species have a pointed muzzle, formed by a prominent rostral cartilage at the cranium. The body is monochromatic or patterned, most species have spines or spiny structures on the spine, and some have a power-generating organ within the tail that is not very powerful. Skate body size varies: small yoyo adult body only 50 centimeters; big sleep can be as long as 2.5 meters. Rays to mollusks, crustaceans and fish for food, by the top of the sudden downward rush, pouncing on prey.
