Wrap each sweet potato in newspaper and put it in a cool and dry place. Newspapers and kraft paper bags are mainly used to shade the sun, but they can provide sufficient air circulation, which can well prevent sweet potatoes from rotting or sprouting, which is beneficial to the preservation of sweet potatoes.
2. Build shed pits
If you live in the countryside, you can make a shed cellar if conditions permit, which is similar to the cellar, but simpler. Dig a pit about 5m long, 3m wide and1.5m high. Be careful not to dig too high, it is easy to collapse. When you put sweet potatoes in, you should first spread a layer of straw to prevent moisture, so that sweet potatoes can be preserved for a long time.
Precautions for sweet potato preservation
The storage temperature of sweet potatoes is 12-20 degrees, so in order to keep the freshness of sweet potatoes, it is best to place them in the environment of this temperature range. Too high or too low temperature will affect their storage. If they are placed in the environment of 30 degrees Celsius, black spots will appear within one week. When sweet potatoes are preserved, you can wash them all first, then gently dry them and leave them for ten minutes before packaging.
