The custom of the women of Hairypu (蟳埔女) together with the women of Hui'an and Meizhou are known as the three major fisherwomen of Fujian, which is one of the major folklore wonders along the coast of southern Fujian. C蟳埔女 is a group of women who have been working hard for generations in C蟳埔 village. They have coiled heads with flowers, wear lilac earrings and big train shirts and wide-legged pants, forming a unique flavor. The people of C蟳埔 rely on the sea for their livelihood and mainly engage in fishing. A-Ma Zu is the most beloved god of the folk who went overseas and became the international "goddess of navigation".
The women of Hao Pu are hardworking and enduring, dexterous, and the many strange customs and folklore of the women of Hao Pu are quite explorable; Hao Pu contains rich humanistic resources, which are quite valuable for excavation, collation and research. It is the Quanzhou forefathers who are down-to-earth and willing to work as well as the women of Hairy Pu that the oyster-shell house full of wisdom can be invented and passed on and preserved till now.
