The scientific name of Niang (the third sound), a small fruit in Northeast China, is sour berry, which is often called golden berry in English, and also called Peruvian sour pulp and lantern fruit. It is native to the Andes, but when it was introduced to China is unknown, so people in Northeast China also call it Niang, and it is also called Sweet Mushroom Niang, Yellow Mushroom Niang and Dragon Fruit.
