Dongpo District, which belongs to Meishan City, Sichuan Province, is the hometown of navel oranges in China, high-quality rice in China, pickles in China, top 100 counties of rabbit industry in China, strong counties (districts) of food industry in China, and national commodity grain base counties (districts). It is also the political, economic and cultural center of Meishan City.

dongpo district

Su Xun, Su Shi and Su Zhe, among the eight masters in Tang and Song Dynasties, came from this area, especially Su Dongpo, who was praised as "the first scholar in the ages". Located in the southwest of Meishan City, it covers an area of 1330 square kilometers, governs 15 towns, 8 townships and 3 streets, and has the scenic spots of Sansu Temple.

Dongpo District was called Meizhou in ancient times. Since ancient times, it has a wealth of things, outstanding people, beautiful mountains and rivers, and is located in Xishu. It was a state and county administration as early as 1000 years ago. After the founding of New China, there was a Meishan area, which was changed to meishan county after it was abolished, and it successively belonged to Leshan and Meishan. On February 20th, 2000/KLOC-0, it was rebuilt as Dongpo District.
