The pectoral fins are wide and long, the upper fins are free and filamentous, and the body is naked and scaleless. All purple. The pectoral fins and pelvic fins sometimes have dark brown edges. The vision of the wolf-tooth goby has deteriorated, its eyes are hidden under the skin, its mouth is very large, and its long curved teeth are exposed outside its lips. Its scales have deteriorated.
