During the Laba period, the dry leftovers of this year are cooked into Laba porridge and distributed to believers, hoping to welcome auspiciousness and increase happiness and longevity. Laba porridge contains eight kinds of foods, including glutinous rice, sesame seeds, barley kernels, longans, red dates, shiitake mushrooms, and lotus seeds. It is rich in protein and dietary fiber and has high nutritional value.
