The main components are toluene, butyl acetate, cyclohexanone, isoamyl acetate and glycol ether acetate. Slightly soluble in water, soluble in a variety of organic solvents, flammable, mainly used as a solvent for paints and diluents. Banana water is also used as a solvent in the production of many chemical products, paints and adhesives. Isoamyl acetate is an important solvent that can dissolve nitrocellulose, triglycerides, vinyl resins, gumarone resins, rosin, frankincense, dammar resins, sandalwood resins, castor oil and so on. In Japan, 80% of this product is used as a spice with a strong fruity flavor, such as pear, banana, and apple. Therefore, it is widely used as a flavoring agent for various edible fruits.
It is also used in tobacco flavoring and daily cosmetic flavoring. It is also used to extract rayon, dyes, artificial pearls and penicillin.
