Satay sauce is originally an Indonesian flavor food. The original meaning was kebabs, mostly with lamb, chicken or pork, and the seasonings used were pungent in flavor.
Later imported into China, only to take its spicy characteristics, with peanut kernels, white sesame, fish, shrimp, shredded coconut, garlic, onion, mustard, chili, ginger, vanilla, cloves, peel, pepper and other raw materials by grinding or frying crispy powder, and then add oil, salt and simmering into a condiment, called salsa.
The process of making salsa is quite tedious. The production of good salsa sauce golden color, and the original Southeast Asian flavor is different, salsa fragrant but not spicy, slightly sweet. It is a common condiment used for cooking in Chaoshan and southern Fujian.

Satay sauce is not the same as sacha sauce, because sacha sauce has more peanuts; and satay sauce more often contains a lot of spices such as powdered yellow ginger, peppercorns, star anise and so on.
Thanks!
