Wuchang fish (Megalobrama amblycephala), the scientific name of the group head bream, commonly known as bream, grass bream, etc., belongs to the order of carp (Cypriniformes), carp (Cyprinidae), bleak subfamily (Cultrinae), the genus of pomfrets (Megalobrama). As a fine freshwater fish endemic to China, Wuchang fish is a new species identified by Prof. Yi Buru in 1955.
