The "Wufangzhai" Zongzi, known as the "King of Zongzi", is a specialty of Jiaxing and has been selling well for 70 or 80 years. At the beginning of the 20th century, in Zhangjialong, there were some vendors selling tea eggs and other things. Because of their good business, they slowly set up stalls and later opened stores. It is said that in 192 1, the Zhang family opened the earliest zongzi shop, named "Wufangzhai" (Rongji). Because chicken meat dumplings are more famous, they drew a rooster on the signboard. The business of this zongzi shop is getting better and better, which has aroused the envy of other bearers, so in one or two years, two zongzi shops have appeared successively. The competition among these three zongzi shops is fierce, and each of them calls himself "orthodox" as "Dingding Zhending Old Wufangzhai" (Rong Ji), "Zhendingding top of the old Wufangzhai" (Qing Ji) and "Creating the First Old Wufangzhai" (Collection Ji). It was not until 1956 that these zongzi shops merged into one.

Tongxiang Li
