Tomb-Sweeping Day, also known as Walking Festival, Walking Festival, March Festival, ancestor worship festival, etc., is celebrated at the turn of mid-spring and late spring. Tomb-Sweeping Day, which originated from the ancestors' belief and the custom of spring worship, is the most grand festival of ancestor worship for the Chinese nation. Tomb-Sweeping Day has two connotations: nature and humanity. It is both a natural solar term and a traditional festival. Grave-sweeping and outing are two major themes of Tomb-Sweeping Day.
Douzhi B (or Sun Huang Jing Da15) is Tomb-Sweeping Day gas, and the time of gas exchange in Tomb-Sweeping Day generally changes from April 4 to 6 in Gregorian calendar, and it is not fixed on a certain day, but April 5 is the most common.
Qingming, a solar term, is full of vitality, and everything "spits out the old and absorbs the new". The earth presents the image of spring and tranquility, which is a good time for a spring outing in the suburbs and a tomb-clearing ceremony. The festival of ancestor worship in Qingming Festival is very long, including 8 days before Qingming Festival/after KLOC-0/0 and each day before and after Qingming Festival 10 (in other words, these nearly 20 days belong to the festival of ancestor worship in Qingming Festival.
Tomb-Sweeping Day is a traditional major spring festival. It is a fine tradition of the Chinese nation since ancient times to pay homage to the graves and remember the ancestors. It is not only conducive to promoting filial piety, awakening family memories, but also promoting the cohesion and identity of family members and even the nation.
Tomb-Sweeping Day's integration of natural solar terms and humanistic customs is a combination of human and natural conditions, which fully embodies the idea that the ancestors of the Chinese nation pursued the harmony of "heaven, earth and people", and paid attention to adapting to the right time and place and following the laws of nature.
Tomb-Sweeping Day, Spring Festival, Dragon Boat Festival and Mid-Autumn Festival are also called the four traditional festivals in China. Besides China, some countries and regions in the world have also visited Tomb-Sweeping Day, such as Viet Nam, South Korea, Malaysia and Singapore. On May 20th, 2006, Tomb-Sweeping Day declared by the People's Republic of China and the Ministry of Culture was included in the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage list with the approval of the State Council.
