Where does pumpkin grow?

Pumpkin is mainly produced in Shaanxi, Yunnan, Hebei, Beijing and other places, and widely planted in Yunnan, Henan, Hubei, Guizhou, Hebei, Shanxi and other provinces. Pumpkin grows on vines, with golden yellow surface, strong drought resistance and low requirements for soil, but it is best to plant it on fertile, neutral or slightly acidic sandy loam.

Growing environment of pumpkin

Pumpkin has a strong ability to absorb soil moisture and nutrients, and can be planted in some land where it is difficult to grow vegetables. Even if planted in poor soil, it can grow and get a certain yield. Pumpkin growth can be divided into four stages, namely germination stage, seedling stage, unfolding stage and fruiting stage.

Pumpkin growth conditions

1. Soil: Pumpkin requires neutral or slightly acidic sandy loam with good drainage, which is fertile and loose and easy to obtain high yield. 2. Water: Pumpkins are not strict with water. In actual planting, they are generally shallow plowed and have little water storage. When lush stems and leaves grow fast, transpiration is great and water demand is great, so the soil should keep a certain humidity. 3. Temperature: Pumpkin is suitable for growing in the environment of 18-32 degrees, and can withstand the lowest low temperature of 6-8 degrees. Germination temperature is 25-30 degrees, below 10 degrees, and above 40 degrees, it can't germinate. 4. Illumination: Pumpkins require high light intensity, and they need sufficient light throughout the growing period. It grows well in an environment with sufficient sunlight, strong vines and good fruit growth quality.
