The source is Potentilla trifoliata Bunge. and P. freyniana Bornm. var. sinicamigo, belonging to the genus Potentilla of Rosa Science and Technology Commission, which is used as medicine by roots or whole grass. Harvest in summer and autumn, fresh or dried.
The taste is bitter, astringent and cold.
Functions: clearing away heat and toxic materials, relieving pain and stopping bleeding. Used for enteritis, dysentery, toothache, stomachache, lumbago, gastrointestinal bleeding, menorrhagia, postpartum or postpartum hemorrhage, osteomyelitis and traumatic injury; Externally used to treat traumatic bleeding, bone tuberculosis, burns and scalds, and snake bites.
