Methods and steps of planting onions
1. Sowing time

The optimum temperature for onion germination is 13 ~ 20℃, spring and autumn are suitable for sowing shallots, spring from March to May and autumn from 9 ~ 10. It's autumn sowing time for shallots. If you want to eat your own shallots, you have to hurry. You can buy ready-made onion roots for planting, and fresh onions will grow in a few days after 10. You can also plant onions, and you can pick them in about 1 month.

2. Pot soil preparation

Prepare a slightly larger flowerpot, preferably a long one, before planting, so that the planting area is large enough to eat. The requirements for planting soil are not high. You can go directly to the vegetable garden or flower bed to dig some garden soil, and then fill it into the prepared flowerpot. Of course, you can also buy more fertile nutrient soil.

sow seeds

Before sowing, water the soil and bury the onion in the soil, exposing a small part of the head.

4. Light and temperature

The requirements for sunshine are not strict. Use a cool place in summer to avoid exposure to the sun. If the light is too strong, it will affect the taste. Allium fistulosum likes cool but is not heat-resistant, and its growth temperature is 18 ~ 20℃.

5. Fertilizer and water control

The root system of shallot is generally shallow, so it is not drought-tolerant and waterlogging-tolerant. To keep the land moist, it is suitable for soil humidity of 70 ~ 80 degrees. Usually water once a week. In the rapid growth stage of shallots, rice washing water can be poured once every 10 day to increase nutrition. Onions are intolerant of agricultural chemical fertilizers, so they can be sprayed with chemical fertilizers when their leaves are weak, and nitrogen fertilizer is not suitable.

harvest

From sowing to growing for one month, the planted shallots can be picked and cooked one after another. Unfinished ones can be planted in pots and picked first.
